1. Fail to Optimize Their Web Pages For Conversions: Conversion optimization is missing. If you still only paying attention to URLs, lengthy content, descriptions, title etc., without making any proper research about the problems of your target audience then, you are making a big mistake. What you are supposed to do is treat of money pages as your salesman.

In an article written by me, a few days back- “8 Step Sales Page Copywriting Formula” I have explained everything in detail, read it here.

Apart from creating headlines and informative paragraphs describing your services, describe your benefits instead of your features. Many content writers and SEO experts while writing content for their web-pages only pay attention to their features, but that’s not all.

Your target audience visiting your website is more interested in what’s in for them, instead of what products and services you are offering to them. So, talk about benefits comprehensively.

Usually, there are many FAQ’s that are missing from your money page. For this, you can create an FAQ section easily with 8 to 10 FAQs using structured data markup language which is also known as schema.

If you are not using schema codes on your money pages then, you are going to miss out on something really big, because Google’s next update that is about voice search makes use of schema codes, so you need to be attentive about it. Also make sure to put testimonials, social images, videos and call-to-action buttons multiple times.

2. Mobile First Indexing: In March 2020, Google announced its mobile first indexing for the whole web. However, mobile first indexing has been there before this announcement also, but now Google has officially announced that from September 2020 all the websites will be indexed on the mobile first indexing algorithm.

This means that your website must load fast on a recommended speed of 4 seconds or less, your web-pages must be optimized for mobiles and while any user is scrolling through your website then his or her experience must be great. So, all the websites that are going to ensure all this will surely be able to reap the amazing benefits from Google’s mobile first indexing algorithm.

No matter how amazing or appealing your desktop version of website is, it is now very important to have a mobile-friendly website or in simple way mobile version of your website. Focus on mobile SEO first and optimize your website for mobile first.

3. Search Queries: Mostly businesses optimize their web-pages for keywords, but that trend is now changed. Now with Google’s voice search becoming more and more popular and prominent, it is high time for you to start optimizing your web-pages for search queries, rather than keywords.

With the rage of new gadgets and gizmos coming out in market now such as Alexa by Amazon, Homemini by Google, Homepot by Apple etc., users are getting used to making voice searches more. But the way users make voice search is very different from text based searches on Google, so you need to make sure to focus on the search queries, instead of keywords.

Most users or for that matter even SEO experts may or may not know that there are five of intents based on which you can figure out your search queries.

I hope you liked these techniques and hopefully it will help you improve your overall SEO strategy.
